We offer internships for students and work experience for pupils. The number of available internships at HZG varies depending on capacities, internal resources, and projects and is handled flexibly by the intern supervisors.

Work Experience for school pupils
We offer pupils many opportunities to gain practical experience, get to know professional fields and to gain exciting insights into research. We offer work experience opportunities lasting two to three weeks to give pupils a first impression of us and our work.
Work experience can be gained in our scientific, technical, and administrative units:
Work Experience in Coastal Research
The work experience must be initiated by the school and insurance cover has to be provided by the school or relevant institution. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider unsolicited applications for work experience (e. g., during school holidays).
- Duration 2 weeks, in exceptional cases 3 weeks
- When to apply Applications should not be submitted more than six months prior to the date of the work experience. We can only accept/reject applications about 3 - 4 months before the time requested for the work experience, as long-term planning is not possible. The time of receipt of an application does not affect the allocation of work experience places.
- Grades Good performance in the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics) as well as in English are the basis for an understanding of the tasks and work processes during the work experience. Basic computer skills and knowledge of software are desirable, but not mandatory.

Work Experience in Biomaterial Science (at the Teltow site)
Two work experience places are offered per calendar year. The work experience must be initiated by the school and insurance cover has to be provided by the school or relevant institution. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider unsolicited applications for voluntary work experience (e. g., during school holidays).
- Duartion 2 weeks
- When to apply Applications should not be submitted more than six months prior to the date of the work experience. Technical Infrastructure Work Experience
The work experience must be initiated by the school and insurance cover has to be provided by the school or relevant institution. Work experience as part of retraining will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
